Mena Alexandra Suvari (born February 13 1979) is a famous American actress fashion designer and model. She began her modeling career in 1990. She soon shifted into acting following appearances as a guest on TV shows such as Boy Meets World or High Incident. Her first film performance in 1997's drama Nowhere. Her performances as a character in American Beauty - for which she was nominated to get the BAFTA Award - and American Pie that earned her greater attention and recognition, she was able to move into larger roles. She's appeared alongside American Pie's co-star Jason Biggs in Loser (2000) before starring as the role of lead on the screen in Sugar & Spice (2001). She also appeared in Spun the drama by an independent company and 2004's thriller Trauma. Other appearances on HBO include the drama Six Feet Under. In 2008, Suvari was a part in a string of films such as Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh as well as the adaptation film to The Garden of Eden. Suvari is the actress for Lancome cosmetics as well as print ads of Lancome Paris Adaptive and has been featured on numerous fashion blogs and magazines including Vogue. Suvari has been a long-time activist and supporter for the African Medical and Research Foundation. Additionally, she has been involved in issues of female empowerment and has been involved in causes that are related to breast cancer and End Violence Against Women campaign.
